Hey, kids! How would you like the chance to have your very own original music featured in Zoop To The Future!? You wouldn't like that? That's weird. Oh, well...
Hey, adults! How would you like the chance to have your very own original music featured in Zoop To The Future!? You wouldn't either? Wow. You are all jerks. Prickley Pete is very angry!
That's right all you aspiring musical artist-type things, it's the 2nd Annual Zoop To The Future! We're Too Lazy To Write Our Own Songs Contest Extravaganza and Fun Time Foodrinkery!! Submit your original song and you could have it included in the finished game as well as win some awesome prizes like free copies of the game, a Prickley Pete plush doll, and more!
Here's the deal: We need music for the following areas/moods/whatever scattered throughout Zoop To The Future!'s vast, VAST, VAST! world...vast:
Hip Dance Club
Hotel Lobby
Outer Space
Tribal Backbeat
As you can see, we are not releasing the corresponding time periods that go with each song nor any plot details or character details. We want to see what you can come up with, without being restricted by parameters, time periods, musical styles, and all that other useless mumbo-jumbo. Plus, it will be hilarious when you see where and how we use each song...maybe!
Feel free to have lyrics, long instrumental sections, and weird lute solos. Everything and anything goes (except any vulgar language). There is no time limit to the songs, make it 36 minutes if you want!
On or before April 1st, we will choose four (4) winners, one of which will win the coveted Grand Prize! All four (4) winners will have their music included in the finished game! We will also be choosing four (4) runners-up whose songs will appear on the soundtrack, and maybe if we like them enough, in the finished game! Check out all the awesome prizes below. If you have any questions about the prizes, don't ask us, we don't even know what you win.

1) You must NOT talk about the 2nd Annual Zoop To The Future! We're Too Lazy To Write Our Own Songs Contest Extravaganza and Fun Time Foodrinkery!!
2) The contest ends on March 1st, 2011 at 3:19pm EST, all submission must be sent before that time to be considered in the contest. If you are even one minute late, we cannot accept your entry. Sorry!
3) This contest is open to all ages, so if you are a 4 year old piano virtuoso or a 59 year old man with lots of cats, send us your songs!
4) Please do not include vulgar lyrics in your song, we are trying to keep this to a E - T rated game.
5) File types accepted: .wav, .mp3, or .aiff. The file size must be under 4 MB. If you win we will work out a way to get a better quality track from you.
6) You must NOT be under contract or attached to any record label or any talent agency, that would mean we would have to deal with various guilds and greedy money hungry people or license the song and that costs money...a lot of money. Basically, be totally independent and you are good to go!
7) We reserve the right to change the contest for whatever reason: tampering, zombies, flying zombies, whatever. Basically, it's our rules; but, don't worry we're not gonna change everything at the last minute and make everyone sad.
8) We reserve the right to pick your song as a winner for any category that we choose, regardless of what you entered it in as.
9) Please understand that you will not be paid for the use of your song in the game, nor will you receive any residuals or anything like that for it's inclusion. We will promote the heck out of you and your songs and maybe, if the game does well, we can work out payment for new songs for our next games and beyond!
10) Winners will be contacted on or before April 1st using the email address they submitted their song with. In the event that email changes, you must be responsible for contacting us in order to change it.
11) By sending us an email to contests@zooptothefuture.com you AGREE to the Contest Rules.

Please submit all entries by clicking the email address below. Use the subject: Zoop To The Future! Lazy Song Contest Entry
Please include your name, song title, what area/mood you would like it considered for, as well as any and all credits for the song. You will receive a confirmation email in several hours confirming your submission (so don't sit by your computer waiting for it, it'll come when the time is right).
Please attach your song to the email in either .mp3, .wav, or .aiff format. Please make sure the song is under 4MB in size.
You can submit as many times as you want!
